Stay safe while you search
Most members are here for the same reason you are. These simple habits keep you safe from the few who aren't.
The five golden rules
- 01
Never send money, gift cards or crypto to someone you met online, whatever the reason.
- 02
Keep chats on The Matrimony India until you trust the person.
- 03
Meet in a public place for the first time and tell family or a friend where you'll be.
- 04
Be careful with anyone who avoids video calls or pushes you to decide quickly.
- 05
Report profiles that ask for money or seem fake. We review every report.
Protect your money
- Never send money, gift cards, crypto or bank details to someone you haven't met, however genuine the story sounds.
- Common scams: a sudden emergency, a customs fee for a gift, an investment tip or a visa payment.
- Our team will never ask for your password or OTP.
Protect your privacy
- Use On request for your phone and photos in Settings, and approve only members you trust.
- Don't share your home address, workplace or financial details early on.
- Keep conversations on The Matrimony India until you've built trust.
Meeting in person
- Video call before you meet: it helps confirm the person is who they say they are.
- Meet in a busy public place, arrange your own travel and tell family or a friend.
- Involve your families early. It's normal, and genuine members welcome it.
